What Is the Farm to Fam Box — and How Does It Work?

Each $120 biweekly box includes food from several named Shenandoah Valley farms: fresh microgreens grown by Robby Ds in Front Royal, eggs, ground beef, ground pork, sourdough bread, butter, whole milk, cheese, pasta, herbal tea, a beverage, and a seasoning blend.

Every item in the box has a named farm source. Producers supplying the box include Oak Bear Farm, Meadowbrook Farm, Mount Crawford Creamery, and other local farms in the Shenandoah Valley. Contents may vary slightly by season based on farm availability, but the format stays the same.

This is the mechanism: 100% of the profit from each purchased box funds an identical donated box, assembled from the same farms, delivered the same week through nonprofit partners including Debbie's Lighthouse, Hike Kidz Foundation, and Harvest Missions in Front Royal.

This is not a rounding-up donation at checkout. The donated box is built into the product model. When you buy a Farm to Fam box, a local family in need receives the same box — same farms, same food, same week.

The logistics work because the donated box distribution uses the same delivery infrastructure already in place for the weekly route. No overhead goes to a separate charity operation.

Farm to Fam boxes ship biweekly — every other Friday — as part of the Robby Ds Lil Greens local delivery route. Delivery is available in Front Royal, Winchester, Stephens City, and surrounding Shenandoah Valley zip codes.

You can order a single box to try before subscribing to a recurring biweekly delivery. There is no long-term commitment required to start. Order by Thursday at 6 PM for Friday delivery.

The box is sized for a household to consume over two weeks. At $120 biweekly, the per-week cost is $60 — covering a meaningful portion of fresh and local groceries for a family without requiring the volume of a weekly box.

The biweekly cadence also gives the farms supplying the box time to ensure consistent quality across all items. Several of the farm partners operate small-scale operations where weekly volume commitments would be difficult to sustain year-round.
